CPI: a worldwide standstill when it comes to fighting corruption
We would like to inform you that we have implemented the newest Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) in Raemonda last month, published by Transparency International. The CPI ranks 180 countries and territories around the world by their perceived level of corruption.
While corruption takes a lot of different forms from country to country, this year’s scores reveal that all countries are at a worldwide standstill when it comes to fighting public sector corruption. The global average remains unchanged for the tenth year in a row. Despite many commitments, 131 countries haven’t made any significant progress against corruption in the last decade. Two-thirds have serious corruption problems, while 15% of the countries are at their lowest score ever (Transparency International, 2022).

Pandora Papers: How should financial service providers deal with information from the Pandora Papers?
“The largest investigation in journalism history exposes a shadow financial system that benefits the world’s most rich and powerful.” (ICIJ, 2021)
In October 2021, the Pandora Papers made headlines worldwide. The Pandora Papers are owned by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and in December 2021 ICIJ published the first part of the leaks. At the end of January 2022, the Dutch Central Bank (De Nederlandsche Bank) communicated that it expects from supervised financial institutions to include the Pandora Papers in the continuous monitoring of their clients and in determining the risk profile of their clients.
The first set of released leaks has already been imported in Raemonda. So Raemonda is screening against the most recent lists available and will help your organization screening all your business relations accurately. We are closely monitoring ICIJ’s updates and we will keep you informed as soon as the rest of the leaks are released and have been implemented in Raemonda.
